How AxisRemedy handles it
Tested by the app. AxisRemedy tests this condition itself. For each document it records passed, failed or not applicable, and for every failure the object and the page.
What the check covers
Tests CIDFontType2 fonts with an Identity CIDToGIDMap: every width in /W must agree with the program's hmtx advance within 1/1000 em. A glyph with a zero advance in the program (stripped from a subset) is skipped. Simple TrueType fonts and CFF programs are not judged.
