How AxisRemedy handles it
Tested by the app. AxisRemedy tests this condition itself. For each document it records passed, failed or not applicable, and for every failure the object and the page.
What the check covers
Tests the strings the page content shows with a font that has a /ToUnicode map: every code must be in the map (codes are split by the map's codespace for composite fonts). A font without /ToUnicode is not judged here. Text drawn by the Form XObjects a page draws is read too, nested forms and inherited resources included.
Repairs that target it
- Character-mapping recovery (ToUnicode maps)
Repairs are optional. The few that could change how a page looks, such as embedding a missing font, need your explicit consent.
